Park JaeBeom's Timeline

2004 - Park Jaebeom auditioned for Park Jin-young (JYP), a well-established Korean entertainment mogul who was scouting for new talent. Park Jaebeom’s successful audition granted him a spot in a “trainee program” in JYP’s talent factory in Korea.

 

Summer 2009 - Park Jaebeom debuted as the leader of a new male group called 2PM. The group’s hit, “Again & Again”, propelled Park Jaebeom to become a major Korean idol across Asia.

 

September 4, 2009 - Park Jaebeom’s private MySpace messages leaked to the public. These controversial messages, written by Park Jaebeom to a friend in 2005 just months after arriving in Korea for the first time, described his dislike of Korea and other Koreans. After intense public and media scrutiny, Park Jaebeom left 2PM one week later and returned to his hometown in the US.

 

February 2010 - After months of rumours about Park Jaebeom’s possible return to 2PM, JYP announced the termination of Park Jaebeom’s contract and hinted that this termination also involves an even bigger yet unnamed controversy.

 

March 2010 - Park Jaybeom uploaded a cover video of “Nothing on You” by B.o.B. on his YouTube channel. This video went viral and garnered over 1.5 million views on the day it was uploaded.

 

July 2010 - Park Jaebeom released his first EP called Count on Me, which debuted at number one on the Gaon chart. Around this time, Park Jaebeom signed with SidusHQ, a major South Korean agency, and re-debuted as a solo artist and actor.

 

2011 - Park Jaebeom released his first mini album called “Take a Deeper Look”, which later went multi-platinum in South Korea.

 

February 7, 2012 - Park Jaebeom released his first solo album called “New Breed”. His album went multi-platinum in under a week.

 

September 13, 2012 - Park Jaebeom founded AOMG, his own independent music label. AOMG stands for “Above Ordinary Music Group”.

 

2014 - Park Jaebeom released his second album called “Evolution”.

 

November 2015 -  Park Jaebeom released his third album called “Worldwide”.

 

2016 - Park Jaebeom released his fourth album called “Everything You Wanted”.

 

July 2017 - Park Jaebeom became the first Asian-American artist to sign with the renowned American music label, Roc Nation.
